From 2002 until 2014 I consulted in the petroleum industry as a geological well site supervisor. In 2006, I began providing mountain safety consulting services and completed the mountain guide training process in 2011.
In 2012, I
began training as a medical doctor at Dalhousie Medical School while continuing
to work part-time in the guiding industry. I completed my specialty training in anesthesia through Memorial university in Newfoundland in 2021.
I am currently a full time anesthetist based in Comox, BC, and guiding intermittently as my schedule permits.
I have focused on integrating my background in communication, risk management, and decision-making under uncertainty with medical training to develop expertise in approaches to clinical decision making, efficient provision of health care, and effective medical education.
